Training

UNCTAD Course on "Ports and Maritime Supply Chain Resilience" contains six modules. The training material is supported by the accompanying multimedia lectures and suggested additional reading. It draws heavily on UNCTAD’s Guidebook on “Enhancing Capacity to Managing Risks: A Guidebook for Ports”, the Review of Maritime Transport, various issues, as well as relevant analytical reports and statistics in the field of transport and trade logistics.

The Review of Maritime Transport (RMT) is an UNCTAD flagship report, published annually since 1968. It provides an analysis of structural and cyclical changes affecting seaborne trade, ports and shipping, as well as an extensive collection of statistics from maritime trade and transport.

The 2021 edition of the RMT provides an update on the latest trends in maritime trade, supply, markets, key performance indicators, and legal and regulatory developments. It also includes a special chapter with testimonials from maritime stakeholders and their experiences in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 edition of the RMT has a special focus on the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on the industry and includes a special chapter on the challenges seafarers face in view of the crewing crisis.
